Choose your roaming carefully
Being aware of your mobile broadband download limits is essential to helping you to avoid receiving an enormous bill for excess data downloaded. Broadband Expert has stated that your bills could increase by as much as two-hundred pounds per extra gigabyte.
A popular comparison site reveals that 3 and O2 companies charge the highest rates for excess data downloaded, charging 19.6p and 10p per megabyte respectively. You can find better deals with some other companies however, with Vodafone only charging 1.46p and T-Mobile charging nothing at all for additional data downloaded.
The commercial director of Broadband Expert says that it can be difficult to find information regarding these charges and how to find the companies that offer the best deals. He also warns of the importance of doing your research thoroughly before signing up to a contract.
One example of these excessive charges was reported by the Daily Mail when British man, Will Peirce, received a bill for almost £22,000 after downloading movies during a skiing holiday in France.
