Choose your roaming carefully
Being aware of your mobile broadband download limits is essential to helping you to avoid receiving an enormous bill for excess data downloaded. Broadband Expert has stated that your bills could increase by as much as two-hundred pounds per extra gigabyte.
A popular comparison site reveals that 3 and O2 companies charge the highest rates for excess data downloaded, charging 19.6p and 10p per megabyte respectively. You can find better deals with some other companies however, with Vodafone only charging 1.46p and T-Mobile charging nothing at all for additional data downloaded.
The commercial director of Broadband Expert says that it can be difficult to find information regarding these charges and how to find the companies that offer the best deals. He also warns of the importance of doing your research thoroughly before signing up to a contract.
One example of these excessive charges was reported by the Daily Mail when British man, Will Peirce, received a bill for almost £22,000 after downloading movies during a skiing holiday in France.

EU to bridge internet gap between urban and rural areas
The European Union are making it very clear that they want less of a divide between rural and urban high speed broadband connections and they say that they can see huge potential benefits for all concerned with new technology such as SDSL broadband connections are made available to all. They also feel that the implementation of faster broadband connections to more consumers will be very helpful in stimulating the economies of member states.
The European union through their communications arm the EC or European Commission say that the best part of a third of the EU’s rural population are not hooked up with any kind of high-speed Internet and are suffering with totally inadequate dial up or no connection at all.
They want to see large telecoms such as BT who offer services like SDSL (Wikipedia) as well as governments as well as large telecom providers to bring together rural and urban broadband provision in a more equally shared arena, and what’s more they want these changes implemented by 2010.
While it is true and highly significant that just over nine out of ten of the citizens of the EU already make use of some kind of high-speed internet connection either with a simple land line or with new fast mobile broadband from one of the Top 10 broadband suppliers. Many potential customers in less well populated areas still flounder with basic dialogue or no Internet connection at all.
These new and possibly highly significant innovations from the EC will see the requirement of all country’s within the Union to bring together town’s folk and those who enjoy village life and close the divide between rural and urban areas with regard to broadband speeds and availability.
